| NOTES: The
ABS course was formerly
called, and is virtually the same as, the previously taught, America's Boating Course.
Two similar courses are anticipated for teenagers, similar to those held
last year. Additionally, safe boating and water sports
presentations are being planned for school age children. Dates and times
to be announced. At least one 2-3 hour evening class is
projected for Aides to Navigation (ATON) and another for GPS (Global
Positioning System) use.
As noted above, all classes will meet in the Mess Deck of the Destin Coast Guard Station except for the March class. This is due to renovation of the Mess Deck at the Station. This is an 8 hour class and all Sat classes start promptly at 8:30 AM. Lunch will be furnished as noted by the *. The ABS class on 30 July is restricted to Destin Jr Life Guard members only and presently is full. PR- REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO ASSURE THERE WILL BE ROOM TO ACCOMODATE YOU IN THE CLASS.
